This cartoon by Grace Brigham of Shrewsbury illustrates  a point regularly made by fluoridation

critics: Powdered infant formula should not be made up with fluoridated tap water.  Although health officials offer only mild warnings about the practice,

fluoridation critics warn that infants risk excessive fluoride intake. Both sides advocate breastfeeding, but that is not always possible.

Sources of Information on Fluoride

This is the website of the Fluoride Action Network. It has been my best source of information for the case against fluoride.

For a short, potent outline of the arguments, I recommend the video, listed under the FAN.tv page, "Professional Perspectives on Fluoridation." It is 28 minutes long. Here's the link:

There are more than 40 videos on the above page from a range of credible authorities -- doctors, dentists, scientists, writers -- covering the fluoride waterfront.

You can also sign up for the Fluoride Action Network newsletter at fluoride alert.org. It  brings you recent developments on the fluoridation front.

Christopher Bryson, author of the notable book, The Fluoride Deception, has a great quote from Ralph Nader, who in turn quoted Alfred North Whitehead (1861 - 1947, pictured at left), the philosopher and mathematician.

Nader said: "Once the U.S. government fifty years ago decided to push fluoridation, they stopped doing what Alfred North Whitehead once said was the cardinal principle of the scientific method, and that is to leave options open for revisions, and it became a party line, it became a dogma, and they weren't interested in criticism."

"When the people lead, the leaders will follow." -Gandhi

This  quote seems to apply to the fluoridation issue. The health care establishment seems locked in to an outmoded practice; it's up to us to wake them up.
